A solar domestic hot water system (SDHW) gathers solar energy in a collector and uses it to heat water, lower energy usage, contribute to space heating and reduce depletion of non-renewable fuel resources.

Domestic hot water is the second-highest energy cost in the typical household. In fact, for some homes it can be the highest energy expenditure.

Solar water heating can now reduce your domestic water heating costs by as much as 65%
Thermo Dynamics Ltd., the largest manufacturer of solar water heaters in Canada, has developed the most efficient and reliable solar water heater in the world. With over 25 years of experience in Canadian conditions, Thermo Dynamics is an excellent choice for our Northern climate.

The Thermo Dynamics’ Solar Boiler is today’s state-of-the-art solar water-heating appliance. Designed to pre-heat the domestic water that is supplied to your conventional water heater, it can result in remarkable savings. It’s easy to install and maintenance free. The installation package contains all the necessary hardware and complete instructions. As a homeowner, you can install it yourself or have your local Thermo Dynamics dealer do it for you.

To provide adequate protection from freezing, most solar hot water systems in Nova Scotia are indirect or closed-loop systems. In a closed-loop system, a pump moves a non-toxic heat transfer fluid through the solar panels, known as collectors, where it is heated. After the heat transfer fluid exits the solar collectors, it passes through a heat exchanger where the solar heat is transferred from the solar fluid to the water supply inside your solar storage tank. Closed loop, pressurized antifreeze systems are the most widely distributed solar heating system worldwide.

Canada’s most efficient solar thermal system!

The SB32-9PV is the only 1 collector CSA certified system in Canada to qualify for the ecoENERGY retrofit grant.

The SB64-9PV has the highest Energy Rating of all CSA certified systems in Canada.
